Class A CDL Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) - Theory
ELDT Theory classroom training and testing is offered online to allow trainees to learn at their own pace. There are no minimum instruction hours for theory training. After each section has been covered, the trainee will be tested on the material and must score at least 80% on the ELDT theory exam to advance to behind-the-wheel (BTW) training. The online theory training and test may be taken until a satisfactory score is obtained.
ELDT Theory for Class B to Class A CDL upgrade is also available per FMCSA requirements.
Class A CDL Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) ELDT
BTW training includes pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections, range skills, and public road driving. Trainees will participate on-site and be required to attend each scheduled training day. Trainees must demonstrate proficiency in knowledge, safety, and skills to receive their ELDT certificate of completion.
BTW training for Class B to Class A CDL upgrade will follow the same training requirements as outlined above.
Class A ELDT- 5 Weeks
Brink Engineering Solutions also offers an advanced BTW training option for those needing additional behind-the-wheel experience. This course will give the trainee more time to learn how to control the commercial motor vehicle (CMV), practice maneuvering the CMV safely and skillfully, and gain confidence while behind-the-wheel.
